This is an historic manor house owned by the brother of another client & is where they both grew up. It’s a terrific place with a great atmosphere & some wonderful specimen trees. Together with Rob Jones of The Garden Design Co Ltd, we were asked to improve things in a sensitive way. I designed a classical scheme of topiary to reflect the style of the building with lots of confetti like summer planting to soften the lines & provide a wonderful Spring & Summer scene. Catherine is a florist so getting this right was essential!
There were already good sight-lines so I just emphasised them with my strong lines & evergreen shapes. As I usually do I used a limited palette of colours in order to create a bolder & more unified scheme.
