My phone rang one day as I was sat in my car. It was Rachael asking if I could talk about designing her new garden “Can I call you back? I’m just at the carwash?” I think she thought it amusing & I did indeed call her back. She & Peter then became my clients & their garden is now complete. Such lovely clients; we’ve been to Belgium to choose trees together with Tom who has built their very large garden for them. It was quite challenging in that it’s quite steep so we had levels to deal with throughout. Peter is passionate about his plants & was usually to be seen on site with a wheelbarrow or spade! This was pretty much a blank canvas with some lovely mature trees & the trick was to weave a new garden in to reflect their taste, work with the sloping site & enhance the features we kept. We’re all delighted & Rachael’s has now opened it as part of the NGS open gardens for charity scheme. Go & see if if you can – it is beautiful & there will be cake!
