I won again! Best of Houzz 2025

Hello & apologies for not writing for such a long time – oops!! Time flies as they say 🙂

So on Monday I checked my emails & Houzz had sent me an email telling me I had won the best design award – Best of Houzz 2025. What a lovely start to the week & I’d done nothing to make it happen; the lovely users of the Houzz website had done it so thank you all @ Houzz!!

Winner of Houzz design award

I believe it is about how many saves a garden gets & this one is a Cotswold garden I designed 20 years ago… Congrats too to Janet & Colin who own it.

It’s always busy here so here’s a quick update of what’s been going on…

Orchard House – pics of the garden below that has been open to the public under the NGS charity scheme has just been sold. The new owners have been in touch & told me they love the garden & that’s why they bought it. How flattering is that – but I’ll miss it. It’s been a wonderful project.

I have an ongoing project in Old Amersham for my client Jane which I think is looking amazing… Here’s one of my drawings beside a photo I took on a site visit. It’s a contemporary garden made of several courtyard areas on 2 levels. It was a very cold day…the person is Rob Jones who sourced & planted the specimen trees.

These are a couple of my drawings of bespoke cold frames Jane wanted beside the finished articles that arrived on site yesterday. So impressive by Oxford Planters.

My Bath project is almost complete too. I’m so pleased & can’t wait to get some decent photos of it in the Spring… since I took this the garage has been painted dark grey & the espaliered apples have been planted in front. Watch this space as it’s going to be stunning! Tom & team building this one.

Current work includes several new builds so there’s a lot of faff involved with planning but we’re winning – so all good & I’m drawing up a very quirky scheme which I’ll show you once the clients have seen it.

We live very close to Daylesford Organic Farm & I often meet friends & family there for lunch & a bit of a shop. A couple of weeks ago I met my friend Jennifer there & bought this super basket of bulbs. They have been flowering ever since & look terrific in the barn. Here’s Bruno sunning himself in there #Cotswoldlife

All for now I need to work 🙂
